About Him
I’d describe myself as open, adventurous, sincere, and emotionally aware—with a tactile side too. I keep active and take pride in staying fit, (no beer belly ), not fanatically, but you’ll find me on the pickleball court a couple of times a week or out walking my dog. .
I love cooking, though I’d much prefer sharing meals than freezing half of them
The environment matters to me, and I try to play my part where I can. These days, after a career in business, I spend some of my time mediating family and neighbourhood disputes for a charity, which helps keep my brain active.
Family is important—I have two sons and four grandchildren, and I’m lucky to have a close and meaningful relationship with all of them.
Travel, as everyone mentions it….Not really into long haul that much, although Japan has a certain attraction, but my ideal would be putting the dog in the car and just heading off into Europe ,generally with an end goal of hiring a place for two or three weeks just to get into life, sunshine and the pool.
I go regularly to theatre ,but more niche ones such as the Park, Hampstead, or Almeida rather than the West End, and favourite is to go with friends to matinee then early dinner.
I'm not looking to live with anyone, but it would be nice to be within striking distance. But, if .as the cliche goes ,the chemistry is good and our values are similar, travelling wouldn't be a problem for me.It's bad enough when we're younger and more malleable trying to adapt, at this ripe old age I think we have to be more forgiving ,definitely not going to get perfection, as always it’s compromise!
However, I really don't want to spend my life tapping back-and-forth on here trying to find out and misinterpret. Would you be up for a real conversation because after all we're on here to find out aren't we?

I’m looking for someone who takes care of themselves, still has energy, but who can also sit quietly and not necessarily need to fill each minute doing something. I miss sharing mornings taking it easy, maybe cooking breakfast, discussion over the paper, what to do that day or maybe just sitting in silence.
Sharing lives whilst at the same time, allowing each other space. Supportive of each other knowing that if necessary, we’ve got each other’s backs.
