About Him
The most important attribute I am looking for in a relationship is intellectual compatibility. In this area I am a bit of a mixed bag. While I had an academic schooling (Michaelhouse), my tertiary education was technical. However, I have not stopped reading all my life (mostly non-fiction in many areas), and I am a member of Mensa. While this may not signify my being a genius, it does guarantee a certain level of deductive and inductive thought, and speed of thinking too. And we like doing puzzles!
I feel that, once we match intellectually, and barring any dealbreakers, there's a pretty good chance we'll hit it off in other areas. Once you have a union of two minds, the rest should fall into place. Don't you agree?
I realise this sounds a little sterile and humourless - but not so! To have a partner with whom one is well-matched, witwise, and with whom one can strike sparks, is one of life's great gifts. And to make obscure allusions and have them understood, and returned with interest, is great fun.
So...there's not much else to say. I live in Kloof, in a large house that I run as a BnB. I love music, and in many ways I feel that it is the most important thing in life - so much of our wellbeing depends on music. I was a software developer most of my working life. I'm semi-retired now, but still enjoy writing programs. Alcohol seldom. Theatre, art, jigsaw puzzles, party games, cats. I am content, but I would love to share my contentment with a woman.
But if you are looking for someone to light your braai fire, and sit and watch Netflix with, I'm not your man.
About His Ideal Match
There's little point in describing my ideal match - I have basically said it all above. I could specify all sorts of things here, but there's no guarantee that a woman who fits what I am looking for, would match these further requirements. So why do it? Intellectual compatibility is paramount!
BTW, the recommendation below is written by my daughter-in-law, who finished her PhD in Psychology last year. Attagirl!

Dave is my father-in-law, and I've known him for about 3 years.
He is a very well balanced man. He appreciates the deeper things in life, but lives life light. He has a very good sense of humour, and a good laugh is guaranteed, with Dave by your side.
He is very intentional and practical. The things he says and does are thought through. Although an introvert, who likes to understand how things work, he also loves people.
